Crystal, Gem and Mineral Information: These are GENERAL guidelines only, since there are many excellent books on stones and Crystals out there. Chakras are energy centers in the body that may be assisted with working with the properties of these stones. There are many books on Chakras and Color Therapy.
Quartz: Most common of crystals, it is the primary "multi-tasking crystal". Piezo-electric, these carry an electrical current. Versatile, it is used for amplifying, concentrating, transferring energies/information. Used for healing and for the 3rd eye. Water clear to opaque white. Some with "ice".
AMETHYST: This mineral clears and supports spiritual development, is soothing and calming. Primarily for the Crown chakra. Purple, from pale to dark.
CITRINE: A mental activator, cleanser and stimulator. Also the color of the Sun, whose energy makes all things grow and flourish! Golden yellow to pale.
DANBURITE: This mineral is a light and intellect activator. On a personal note it is said enlighten through love. A powerful accelerator stone, which enhances the energy of other stones used with it. Various shades, this stone is clear with striations.
DOUBLE TERMINATED QUARTZ: With a point on either end, DT Quartz serves many purposes and works as a relay moving energy in both directions. Clear to cloudy depending on mineral content. I strive for very clean and clear on the exposed crystals.
EMERALD: Used for the heart chakra. Heals, brings good luck and has traditionally been used by royalty for it's powers to attract wealth. Color range is light green to dark.
FULGURITE: Not technically a stone, Fulgurite is formed by lightning striking and melting/fusing sand. Very powerful, combining the energies of matter and spirit. A high energy for the kundalini chakra. I usually combine with Kyanite. Chunks and tubes. Blackish/gray.
GARNET: Traditionally a love stone. The garnet activates power in the lower chakras. Usually clear to dark red.
HEMATITE: Grounds, protects and transforms negativity. Stimulates clear thought. A silver/dark gray, metallic looking, heavy.
KYANITE: Very high vibrationally. Balancing, calming, stimulates psychicism. Blue w/crystal striations. Excellent when combined w/Fulgurite, which is what I usually do.
LAPIS: Symbolic of power and royalty since ancient times. A mental, spiritually oriented cleanser. Moves the conscious mind inside to inner resources of power. Light blue to deep Azure with specks of gold pyrite.
MOONSTONE: This is the feminine, the Goddess, the Mother. It aids in bringing balance and nurturing energy, fertility and new beginnings. Protection for travellers and aids with calmning/comforting to couples. Opaque white, green to orange.
PYRITE: Grounding and can work with other stones and match their higher or lower frequencies. Also called "Fool's Gold". Very hard and looks like real gold except for the formation.
ROSE QUARTZ: The "love" vibration. Calming and softening. Supports and reflects the ideal of unconditional love in the heart. Heart Chakra stone. Pink in color.
SELENITE: It appears to help with the dissipation of certain negative environmental energies. Selenite can program Quartz, cleanse other minerals and has the ability to manifest things on many different levels. Heightens intuition and can realign the body.
TOPAZ: Changes energies from negative to positive and is said to be an aid to manifesting in the physical plane. Yellow/Champagne: For the Solar Plexus chakra, in pale yellow to clear/yellow. Blue: The blue Topaz stone helps with the Throat Chakra in focusing, mental clarity and balance.
ACTIVATED CHARCOAL: Used to cleanse and neutralize toxins and purify.
RARE EARTH NEODYMIUM MAGNET: Having a powerful magnetic energy these tiny magnets help "excite" the metal matrix and create a stronger energy.<P>
COPPER: Traditionally used for vessels, carrying water and electricity this metal also relays energy. Various coils are used inside the devices as well as on the outside. It has a very nice feel and this metal works extremely well with Orgonite..
BAMBOO: Traditionally used for centuries for everything from building to eating, Bamboo is beautiful, strong and yet pliable. In ancient China people identified with Bamboo which was seen as the very symbol of the Chinese character. Bamboo stands for elasticity, endurance and perseverance. The stem bends in the wind but does not break, the leaves are moved by the wind but do not fall. In Japan this characteristic is still referred to as a "Bamboo mentality": reaching compromise, giving in but ultimately emerging from all troubles unbroken. After the American atom bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, bamboo was one of the first plants to turn green again and emerge from the soil. It is a survivor.
I feel it has a very organic & peaceful yet strong energy. Many variations occur naturally in grain, color and shape.
